Viotus is developing several interactive worlds. Dreams Of Lumina explores a large online 3D universe, World Of Arcana investigates the systemic depth of a 2D MMORPG and Portals Of Lumina approaches Lumina through movement and discovery. Before those larger worlds arrive, another project will open the door: Heroes Of Lumina will be the first Viotus interactive world to reach the public.
An online card game inside Lumina
Heroes Of Lumina is an online strategic card game presented in pixel art. Each match is built around a hero, and that hero is more than a visual character: it provides an identity, a rhythm and a way to approach the board.
Players build decks from cards representing characters, creatures, factions, places and powers from the Lumina universe. The game does not separate strategy completely from story. Every card is a tactical decision and a small window into the world behind it.
Online from the beginning
Heroes Of Lumina is designed online from its foundation. Battles take place against other people, with shared board states, visible responses and decisions that both players must interpret.
That requires clarity. Players need to understand what happened, what options are available and what each move may change. Depth should come from reading the situation and making better decisions—not from hidden rules or a confusing interface.
Read, decide, adapt
The battle loop is built around three actions: read the board, decide with intent and adapt when new information appears. A deck should offer a coherent point of view, but a match should never be reduced to repeating a perfect sequence.
An opponent can respond, an early advantage can disappear and a plan can need to change. Heroes Of Lumina is being shaped around meaningful counterplay, where mastery comes from judgement rather than from hidden complexity.
The battlefield before the catalogue
Heroes Of Lumina is in development and is not yet publicly playable. The current priority is to build a durable battle grammar before expanding the number of cards, heroes and factions.
A card game can grow quickly in content while losing clarity. Viotus is taking the opposite approach: new additions will arrive only when the foundation remains understandable, balanced and strategically meaningful.
The goal is not to increase the catalogue for its own sake. Each new card should add something to the system and reveal something about Lumina.
Heroes with their own identity
Choosing a hero means choosing a way to approach the game. Heroes are intended to anchor different deck identities, rhythms and tactical points of view.
They also provide one of the ways to discover the wider universe. Their cards can reveal allies, conflicts, regions and powers, allowing strategy and worldbuilding to grow together.
Pixel art as a language
The pixel-art presentation is not intended to reduce the scope of the project. It provides clear silhouettes, precise animation, strong contrast and a visual identity that supports the reading of the battlefield.
Each card can become a small window into a character, creature or place. Each faction can develop its own palette, rhythm and way of moving. The visual language is part of how the game is understood.
The first step into Lumina
Heroes Of Lumina is connected to the wider universe Viotus is building. It will have its own rules and identity, but it can also introduce characters, factions, places and conflicts that acquire new dimensions in other products.
This makes it a first doorway into Lumina. It will be the first interactive world from Viotus that people can play, share and learn from while the larger worlds continue to take shape.
Why it will arrive first
Viotus is working on products with different scales and development horizons. A persistent online world requires broad systems, infrastructure, content and a large number of coordinated decisions. Heroes Of Lumina has a more concentrated form, which allows its battle system to be tested and refined with precision.
That does not make it less ambitious. It makes it the right first product for turning the studio vision into a complete, playable experience. It will allow Viotus to learn, listen and evolve before bringing that experience to worlds of greater scale.
A world with its own future
Heroes Of Lumina is still in development. The system needs to be tested, its balance refined and its initial catalogue built before it is ready for public play.
But its direction is clear. It will be an online pixel-art card game built around heroes with distinct identities, readable strategy and a first entry into the Lumina universe.
It will not be the end of Viotus’s vision for online worlds. It will be the first world we share.
