Calculator has moved from product direction to a complete desktop foundation. Its financial engine, persistent workspaces and native application have now passed the internal beta acceptance gates, bringing the program closer to its first release through the Viotus Store. This is not the opening of downloads today, but it is the clearest view yet of the product that will arrive there.
A financial terminal, not a handheld calculator
Calculator is designed for repeatable financial work. Instead of presenting one isolated operation at a time, it organises questions, inputs, methods and results inside workspaces that can be revisited and extended.
The interface keeps formulas, figures and execution history legible without turning the program into a wall of dashboards. The aim is direct: move quickly while preserving enough context to understand how every result was produced.
Twenty modules from one expandable catalogue
The first version brings together eight general calculations and twelve asset-valuation models. The catalogue covers recurring work including returns, loans and financial ratios, alongside models for equities, property, bonds, commodities, private companies, funds, savings and retirement.
Every module follows the same contract for inputs, validation and outputs. That common structure makes the experience predictable today and gives Calculator a clear path for adding new calculations without building a separate interface for each one.
What Calculator will include
The first release is planned around persistent workspaces, reusable calculation blocks, a visual dependency map, native Rust execution, automatic saving, execution history, light and dark themes, and versioned workspace import and export. A calculation can remain independent or become part of a larger system whose links, units and execution order are validated before it runs.
The catalogue spans expressions, percentages, compound interest, loans, inflation, goals and financial-freedom planning, together with valuation models for listed shares, property, bonds, commodities, private debt, private businesses, funds, collectibles, cash and savings, retirement, return on investment and use assets. Results include readable summaries, warnings, calculation traces and projections where the selected module supports them.
Calculations that can work together
Outputs can be connected to compatible inputs through a visual dependency map. Calculator validates those links, rejects missing or circular relationships and executes the resulting graph in the correct order.
When an upstream value changes, dependent calculations can be propagated again as one transaction. If something fails, the workspace is not left with a mixture of old and partial results.
Private, persistent and auditable by design
Workspaces, blocks, connections and execution history are stored locally on the device. Automatic saving, database migrations and integrity checks are part of the desktop foundation, together with versioned import and export for moving a workspace deliberately.
Calculator records the inputs, outputs and engine trace behind each run. That history is there to support review and comparison; the program provides analytical tools, not financial advice, and does not replace professional judgement.
Free, Premium and Deluxe
Free will provide a useful starting point at no cost, with essential local calculations, a selection of core modules and enough workspace capacity to create, save and reopen financial work on the device. It is intended to make Calculator genuinely usable before anyone decides whether they need a broader edition.
Premium will be the time-based upgrade for increased capacity, expanded tools, advanced functions and connected services while the plan is active. Deluxe will be the most complete permanent desktop edition, designed for the broadest professional offline capability, more modules and workspaces, complete history, connected calculation graphs, automation and advanced import and export. The exact limits and any online services attached to each edition will be published in the Store before launch.
One desktop product across three platforms
Calculator is built from one Tauri, React and Rust foundation for macOS, Windows and Linux. The calculation engine runs natively, while the shared product model keeps workspaces and modules consistent across the three systems.
The macOS application bundle has already been generated, launched and verified during beta acceptance. Native packages for each supported platform, their exact requirements and integrity information will be confirmed before public availability.
What happens next
The next step is the release preparation that turns a validated build into a product ready for customers: final packaging, platform verification, the definitive Free, Premium and Deluxe feature matrix, product information and the official distribution path through the Viotus Store.
There is no public download yet and we are not announcing an exact launch day in this preview. The Store will be the authoritative place for availability, supported systems, purchase terms and official builds as soon as the release is ready.
